Abstract:
Tutuila, American Samoa, Recording Current Meter (Model RCM9, Aanderaa Data Instruments). The RCM9 is placed on the sea floor to measure water current and temperature in the vicinity of the sensor. Purpose:
These data were collected for coral reef ecosystem research. They are collected concurrently with ecological/biological reef assessments.
Supplemental_Information:
The raw data file (.dsu) is in a proprietary format of the manufaturer. The data is processed based on the calibration co-efficients and instrument setup parameter. The processed dataset (.TXT) is in the following columnar ASCII format: Record number, Date/Time (UTC), Reference value (not used), current speed (cm/s), current direction (degrees magnetic), temperature (Celcius). Sensor depth in meters: 22.
