Title:
CRED Shallow Water CTDs: Agrihan Island, Marianas Archipelago 2005, Reef Assessment and Monitoring Program Cruise OES0511
Abstract:
CRED Shallow Water CTDs sample vertical profiles of temperature, salinity, and turbidity providing indications for water masses and local sea water chemistry changes. They are collected at regularly spaced intervals around all study sites, both around islands or banks and within lagoons. The CTD profiles are part of a suite of oceanographic assessments made concurrently with a large number of biological coral reef assessments. The 14 CTD profiles were collected around Agrihan Island during CRED Marianas Archipelago Coral Reef Assessment Cruise OES0511 on September 15, 2005. During this cruise, CTD profiles were collected at Aguijan Island, Agrihan Island, Asuncion Island, Maug Island, Pagan Island, Saipan Island, Sarigan Island, Tinian Island, Uracus Island, Alamagan Island, Anatahan Island, Guguan Island, and Rota Island. The instrument used to collect the data is a Seabird Instruments 19 plus CTD with a Wetlabs C-Star Transmissometer. Data binning and other processing was performed using Seabird Instruments SeaSoft software. Data format is discreet, tabular CNV (formatted, space delimited ASCII) files for each profile, with a full header as provided by SeaSoft. The header contains latitude, longitude and other location information, as well as all processing steps. Please contact CRED with any questions.
